The short version
- PantrySpree is in public beta. Beta payments run in a test mode, so you won't be charged and no money moves.
- You see every fee before you pay, and nothing in your order is swapped without your say.
- Something wrong with an order? Report it from the order in the app.
- Shoppers have extra terms in Part B.
Everyone
1. Who we are
These terms are between you and PantrySpree, called "we", "us" or "our" in these terms. They apply when you use the PantrySpree app, the Spree Delivery app or pantryspree.co.za.
By creating an account or using our apps, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.
2. The public beta
PantrySpree is in public beta. That means:
- Payments in the beta run in a test mode. You won't be charged, no money moves, and orders placed in the beta are not real orders.
- Features, prices and delivery areas may change, and parts of the apps may not work as expected.
- If you send us feedback, we may use it to improve PantrySpree. We don't owe you anything for it.
When we launch, we'll update these terms and tell you in the app.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create an account.
- You sign up with a South African mobile number and an email address. Keep them, and your delivery addresses, up to date.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we reasonably believe is being used for fraud. We'll tell you why, unless the law stops us.
You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Account, Delete account. The privacy policy explains what we delete and what we keep.
4. Placing an order
- Products and prices come from the PantrySpree store that serves your address. Stock can run out between the time you order and the time your shopper picks.
- You pay when you place your order. An order that is not paid within 30 minutes is cancelled.
- If an item is out of stock, your shopper can suggest up to three replacements in the app, and you choose. If you don't answer within 5 minutes, the item is left out and you don't pay for it.
- We may cancel an order we can't fulfil. If we do, you get back everything you paid.
5. Prices, fees and payment
- Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where it applies.
- Your delivery fee, service fee and total are shown before you pay. The delivery fee depends on your delivery area.
- Payments are processed by PayFast. We never see or store your card details.
- What you pay at checkout is an estimate, because replacements and items left out can change your order. The final total is worked out once your order is delivered.
- If the final total is lower, we refund the difference to your card. If it is higher, because you approved a replacement that costs more, the balance shows as due in the app and you pay it with Pay now.
6. Delivery
- Delivery times in the app are estimates, not promises.
- Make sure your address, gate code and delivery notes are correct, and that someone can receive the order.
- When your order is on its way, the app shows a 6-digit delivery code. Give it to your shopper at the door. They need it to complete the delivery.
- If your shopper can't find you, contact support from the order in the app.
7. Problems with an order
If an item is missing, wrong or damaged, or your order never arrived, report it from the order in the app as soon as you can. Our support team will look into it and, where it applies, refund you or put it right. If we close your report and you are not happy, you can reopen it within 24 hours.
Nothing in these terms takes away your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.
8. Cancelling an order
You can cancel an order in the app until a shopper starts picking it. If you do, you get back everything you paid. Once picking has started, contact support from the order in the app.
9. Refunds
Refunds go back to the card you paid with. If that isn't possible, our team pays the refund into your bank account and contacts you to arrange it.
10. Using PantrySpree fairly
Please don't:
- use our apps for anything unlawful or fraudulent;
- abuse, threaten or harass shoppers, customers or our team;
- try to break into, copy or reverse-engineer our apps;
- place orders you don't intend to accept.
11. Our names and content
The PantrySpree and Spree Delivery names, logos, apps and website belong to us. You may use the apps to shop or to work as a shopper, and for nothing else.
Shoppers
12. Who these terms cover
Part B applies to anyone who signs up in the Spree Delivery app to pick and deliver orders. Part A applies to shoppers too.
13. Signing up and checks
To become a shopper you give us:
- a South African ID, green ID book, passport, asylum seeker permit or refugee permit;
- your driver's licence and your vehicle's make, model, year, colour and registration;
- proof of residence;
- your consent to a criminal record check;
- a bank account for your payouts, and an emergency contact.
Our team reviews what you send. We may ask for more, or decline an application. You can take orders only once you are approved.
14. Doing orders
- Go online in the app to see orders near you, and accept only orders you can complete.
- Pick carefully. If an item is out of stock, suggest a replacement in the app. Never swap an item without the customer approving it.
- Deliver to the address in the app, and ask the customer for their 6-digit delivery code to complete the delivery.
- While you are on your way to a customer, your location is shared with us and with that customer.
15. Earnings and payouts
- You earn for each order you complete. Your pay for an order is shown in the app before you accept it.
- Tips go to you in full. A tip shows once you've accepted the order.
- Earnings are held for 48 hours after delivery, then paid by EFT to your approved bank account on the next Friday.
16. Conduct and safety
- Keep your licence valid and your vehicle roadworthy.
- Obey the rules of the road, and never use your phone while driving.
- Don't work under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Treat customers, store staff and other shoppers with respect.
- Report any incident through support in the app straight away.
17. Pausing or ending access
We may pause or end your access as a shopper if you break these terms, if we reasonably suspect fraud or a safety risk, or if your documents can no longer be verified. We'll tell you why, and you can ask us to review the decision.
You can delete your shopper account in the app once you have no delivery under way and all your earnings have been paid out.
General
18. Our liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law, including the Consumer Protection Act, doesn't allow us to limit.
19. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we'll tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using PantrySpree after that, the new terms apply to you.
20. Law and disputes
South African law applies to these terms. If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can try to fix it. If we can't, you may take it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud or to a South African court that has jurisdiction.
